I for one am eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Kris Van Assche Spring/Summer Footwear collection. It won’t be in store until March, but we are due to receive this fantastic construction:

And I’m pleased to announce that we are bringing in a wider range of sizes for once: 41-44. The Funnel High Tops from last season sold out almost instantly and we anticipate a similar response to these equally remarkable sneakers, so if you’de like to reserve a pair email us.

Being located in Waikiki we naturally get a lot of clients from around the globe. Many people from Australia, Canada, Japan, Italy, and the UK have sought out our discreet shop while retreating to the tropics on holiday. Rarely though do we get the opportunity to fraternize with such short term visitors after they exit the store. Last week however we had the chance to take out our two newest clients from Japan: Masato and Makoto. They both work at the Umeda Hankyu in Osaka, which I learned has a pretty impressive men’s fashion select-shop — Garage D.Edit — where Masato is employed. They seemed like nice enough guys so we took them out to 39 Hotel in china town last Friday for drinks. Two beers later they were transfigured into Manga characters. Hopefully they can forgive us for posting these photos.

For those unfamiliar, 39 Hotel is hands down the best venue in Honolulu for any kind of night life. The venue was founded by Harvey Bassett, aka DJ Harvey, who is a world renowned disco DJ and member of the band Map of Africa. Though he wasn’t in town to do a set last Friday we still enjoyed ourselves plenty.
Anyway, I’m slightly envious of Makoto. He snatched up the Damir Doma Kempas Knit Hoody (last one) at 30% off.

Here at MixMix we take music as seriously as we do clothing. This is in part due to the fact that the owner is a well established DJ (who has played all over the world at some top clubs in London, Japan, and Ibiza) but mostly because we recognize the affinity of and differential isomorphism between autonomous modes of musical expression and fashion vis-à-vis mass culture. For this reason we necessarily keep our stereo free of anything too popular, commercial, or commonplace. Here are set of tracks that have given aid to our cause today.
Bakterielle Infektion – Verbindung
Max Closure And The Graves – Picket The Safety Way
Shoc Corridor – Artificial Horizon
Twilight Ritual – Fear For Losing You
Stratis – Te Rheingold
Oltre La Morte – Aria Azure
Alimentaire S.A. – Daily Dependence
Jeff & Jane Hudson – Mystery Chant
De Fabriek – Barbara
Cabaret Voltaire – Breathe Deep
Somnambulist – Facing The Moon

Signal Aout 42 – No Girl
Nacho Patrol – Puzzles Of The Golem
