Being located in Waikiki we naturally get a lot of clients from around the globe. Many people from Australia, Canada, Japan, Italy, and the UK have sought out our discreet shop while retreating to the tropics on holiday. Rarely though do we get the opportunity to fraternize with such short term visitors after they exit the store. Last week however we had the chance to take out our two newest clients from Japan: Masato and Makoto. They both work at the Umeda Hankyu in Osaka, which I learned has a pretty impressive men’s fashion select-shop — Garage D.Edit — where Masato is employed. They seemed like nice enough guys so we took them out to 39 Hotel in china town last Friday for drinks. Two beers later they were transfigured into Manga characters. Hopefully they can forgive us for posting these photos.
For those unfamiliar, 39 Hotel is hands down the best venue in Honolulu for any kind of night life. The venue was founded by Harvey Bassett, aka DJ Harvey, who is a world renowned disco DJ and member of the band Map of Africa. Though he wasn’t in town to do a set last Friday we still enjoyed ourselves plenty.
Anyway, I’m slightly envious of Makoto. He snatched up the Damir Doma Kempas Knit Hoody (last one) at 30% off.
